ABOUT THE KEW 10K
The event will take place on fully closed roads inside Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Southwest London on the 1st April 2023. This 10K has historically taken place as part of the RUNFEST events in September, and has now moved to join the brand-new 'timeoutdoors' KEW THE RUN series, alongside the Kew Gardens Half Marathon and Kew The Mile. This is London's flattest 10k so with good training you'll run a personal best.
ABOUT KEW THE RUN
'timeoutdoors' Kew The Run is a weekend that hosts the Kew Gardens 10K on 1st April and the Kew Gardens Half Marathon on 2nd April. This Richmond 10K will take on a new course running entirely inside a flat Kew Gardens. This new Richmond Half will start and finish inside Kew whilst taking on an additional flat and scenic route of the Richmond Riverside.
After the events, finishers and their families* can explore London's no. 1 visited tourist attraction Kew Gardens that holds 50,000 living plants to be found across the UNESCO World Heritage site.
FREE ADMISSION FOR YOUR SPECTATORS
* Kew Gardens is a ticketed venue so we are delighted that your race entry also allows an additional 2x adults and 2x children (U16) to enter with you FREE of charge when you arrive for the race!
Important: For your spectators to access this free entry they will need to be in the Gardens via Brentford Gate before the gates close at 08:30am for our private run, therefore they will need to enter Ferry Lane no later than 08:15am. Once the gates close there is no admission until they re-open to only paying customers. Once you are in Kew Gardens you can remain there for the rest of the day but you cannot exit and then re-enter without paying the standard entry fee.
KEW GARDENS 10K REVIEWS
"Organisation and crowd support is second-to-none, fantastic atmosphere the whole way around and wonderful happy volunteers at the end."
"Hi team- I wanted to say how well organised the event was and how safe it felt in current times. I am sure that it was a huge organisational nightmare but the communication was great and helpful to know what was happening. Kew Gardens is very special to me for a number of reasons and I hope that I will be able to attend and run with you again in future years.
Sorry for waffling, but I wanted to say thank you for organising, Kew for hosting and all the wonderful Marshall’s and fancy dress people. Many thanks to all involved."
Full professional cover in place throughout the course.
The entire course will be fully marshalled. Marshalls are volunteers so please say thanks to these amazing people!
A sweep Marshall will be present to assist athletes who do not complete the course and will be transported to the finish line.

FAST AND FLAT
"London's flattest 10K with a fast venue that hosted the UK's fastest ever domestic marathon, even faster than any London Marathon!"
This is still London's flattest 10k and even flatter than last years Kew Gardens 10k. The new course has net drop of 5ft and only a total of 63ft gain the whole course. The new course now starts outside the Hive on the beautiful Broadwalk and finishes outside the famous Palm House.
